Welcome to our LDrivers home page where we list only qualified Driving Instructors and Driving Schools in Ireland. Our website lists Car, Motorbike, Truck and Bus Instructors. All the Driving Instructors listed on LDrivers are regulated by the RSA and will conduct their Driving Lessons in a professional and friendly manner. Each Driving School sets their own fee for Driving Lessons.
You should always seek the advice of a registered Driving Instructor before you apply for your driving test. They have local knowledge and experience to help you prepare correctly for your driving test. An experienced Driving Instructor will be able to advise you when you are ready to apply for your driving test.
All Driving Instructors must display the RSA ADI logo, show below which is on their ID badge it will also display their unique ADI number.
It is expected in the budget in December that the cost of a driving licence will increase from €25 to €40 for a ten year licence. A three year licence could increase to €25 from €15. These are only proposals at the moment.
There were 14,000 learner drivers who were prosecuted for driving unaccompanied or driving without "L" plates displayed during the last 18 months.
The RSA has announced new changes are to be introduced for learner drivers. Category A, A1 will be affected on 6th December and Category B will be affected on 4th April 2011. These changes will include 16 and 12 Compulsory Driving Lessons respectively for all learner permit holders from these dates. Existing permit holders will not be affected. Other changes which will be introduced will include supervised driving practise and a log book to display the number of tuition hours taken with a qualified Driving Instructor and supervised driving hours with a qualified driver. Upon completion of these lesssons a certificate will be issued before the learner driver can apply for his/her driving test. The introduction of a new R plate should be introduced in September 2011 where the novice driver will have to display this plate up to 2 years after passing the driving test, lower blood alcholol limits, and increased penalty points, however new legislation for this has yet to be introduced.
