Did you know that currently in Ireland there are 297,547 persons holding a Learner permit. This information is true up to the end of June 2009. Of these 244,232 hold a Learner Permit for a Car. 2,346,748 persons hold a full driving licence and application levels for the driving test are at an average of 3,000 weekly this year. Although 3000 people each week are applying to sit the test, my question is, why arent these people taking driving lessons? 2 Testers working everyday at my local test centre, but very few people doing pre test lessons. Why? Is it money or the fact they dont have to by law, take any lessons?
