Car Care And Security
Car care is vital in order to maintain your car. You should also ensure that your car is serviced regularly. You should know each of the following: how to check the level of oil in your car, your tyre pressure, how to top up your water washer fluid and warning lights should they appear on your dashboard.
TIP: Know your tyre pressure – it is often noted on the inside of the passenger door although each car and manufacturer may vary where it is noted.
Washer fluid – always keep a bottle of water with you.
Level of gas - it is not advisable to leave it until you almost run out of petrol or diesel to fill your tank up. The reason for this is that there may be dirt or grit at the bottom of the tank. This can clog up the engine and it may not perform as efficiently as you would like. Remember car care – it is advisable to keep your engine at least one quarter full in order to have enough fuel should you have an emergency!
Security – don’t leave valuable items on display in your car. Keep cash, mobile phones and other valuables either out of sight or not in the car at all.
