When purchasing a car bear in mind the fact that the boot has ample space for a buggy/stroller. When you buy the stroller or buggy ask for the dimensions first and make sure that it fits into the boot. Don’t be swayed by the style or brand name of a buggy. You’re the one who is going to have to lug the buggy in and out of the car and it can be very awkward if it doesn’t fit snugly into your boot! New parents will appreciate this advice as many other parents fell into the trap of purchasing a new buggy without contemplating the size of the buggy in the boot. Whether you have a big or small boot you should be able to find something to fit into the boot. Some buggies fold up really small while others are quite bulky! It helps to see what the buggy looks like and feels when it is folded up also.

The same tip applies to car seats. Make sure the car seat you wish to purchase actually fits into your car. Ask the sales assistant to try the display model and see if it fits on your back seat or front seat where applicable. Always remember to turn off the passenger air bag if you carry the baby in the front seat!
